The examiner walked down the row. Piece by piece each answer booklet was picked as if to say, 'chop, game over'. So near yet so far. Yet as each table the examiner passed, the seeming shelter of the temporized bivouac which darkness filled, allowed cracks of light through.

Finally he came, or she, he couldn't tell. The sheer speed at which he/she/it passed at only allowed a glimpse so short that you might mistake he/she/it for Lai.

It passed through, paper gone, label lost, IC kept, pens boxed. He knew it was over. It so was.

In that moment of internal melee, one saying stand up and shout, the other saying stand up and cry. He sat back, embraced the moment, breathed the air. There is no more, so at least he hopes.

Out of the back of the hall rang the usual VS boy whistle-after-chinese-while-people-are-still-counting whistle. He knew he was home. And he knew he did Tan Chin Boon proud.

"Say it.... just say it...." he said as the undulated heart beat quickened and exploded in disconcert.

"Chill..." Says this blue IC holder.

It strolled towards the mic. It was coming. It so was.

He throws his arms up in jubilation. An explosive shout of "好" came to his right ear. It seemed so surreal.

It was done.

Hi Everyone,

this is to inform you that you will only be officially dismissed at 12.30 pm tomorrow (Friday).

I've just been told that the S Cube (Survival, Security, Success) Seminar will be held tomorrow (11.00 - 12.30pm) for all JC1s and CTs. This Seminar is organised by the Ministry of Defence, and focuses on the Singapore Armed Forces, and its role and function as an effective deterrent to would-be aggressors. The session will kick off with forum theatre, followed by a Q&A with a Lieut-Colonel who happens to be a Victorian.

Farewell Assembly will end at 10 am, so the starting time at 11am should give you an hour to slurp your ice-creams. (yes, the SCs have arranged for ice cream treats for you guys, so this is an incentive for you to come OK. again...i hate to plant *this* thought in your head, but i trust that you guys are all good VJC kids, right?)

So, perhaps within the one hour break, you can come and see me regarding your WR draft? And hopefully you guys should still be in time for your class outing activities, OK.

On 4 July 2008, class 08s41 embarked on a journey of planning and implementing a day project, which was in actuality given weeks to prepare for.

In honorable service to the nation, thereby creating confidence in Singapore's future, thereby fulfilling our first project task, our class chose to spend time to enrich the artistic skills of our nation's future. Which happens to be at Ruth's and Puen's ex-childcare.

Of course we shared the country's passion for building up our nations sporting hopes by identifying and developing our nation's future's sporting talents. Said one of our classmates, Ernest Puey:

"I believe that we made Leo buy a ball for nothing..."

Another one of our classmates, Christopher Wong (Who was not around during the interview) said:

"Yes, indeed... We enjoyed ourselves greatly through this experience... How I wished I could have been there too.."

Said the teacher-in-charge of the event at the debrief:

"Are you sure you all have nothing to comment about?.."

This has proved to be a remarkable showcase of quick thinking, acting like you know whats going on, and making a bunch of hyper kids more hyper. Another mystical, magical success our class pulled off. Beat that, David Blaine.

Ryan's birthday (23th April)

This is the only picture taken. Special mention goes to Pu En for destroying the cake before it was eaten.

I must commend all of us for being able to set our priorities right. Even though smashing cakes/flour/thousand island sauce onto Ryan is very fun, we know that the cross-country competition is more important and all of us need to be at the place to support our runners (Eloise and Charmaine). Hence we cannot dirty Ryan as he will feel very uncomfortable cheering. I am glad so many people from our class actually went down to support our runners. This shows how strong our school spirit is, and most importantly, our class spirit. Keep it up!

Term 2 is a busy term, especially with sports competitions going on and concerts by performing arts.
